Kelly Ripa may be a fan of The Golden Bachelor, but she’s not afraid to call out Gerry Turner for falling into a frequent faux pas seen in the ABC reality TV franchise.
On this morning’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, Turner sat down with Ripa and Mark Consuelos to discuss the “emotional cliffhanger” where he left fans following last Thursday’s (Nov. 2) episode, which ended mid-rose ceremony.
Viewers saw Turner embark on hometown dates with three remaining women: Theresa Nist, Faith Martin, and Leslie Fhima. However, Ripa highlighted a particular predicament Turner found himself in by his final hometown visit.
“But you did this thing that we’ve watched so many Bachelors before you do,” she began. “You dropped the ‘L word’ on more than one woman.”
Specifically, Ripa was referring to Turner telling — SPOILER — both Martin and Fhima that he loved them on their respective hometown dates.
Consuelos interjected, telling Turner, “I understand, Gerry.”
“I love everyone!” Consuelos quipped. “I love you.”
Turner owned up to the sticky situation he got himself in, explaining, “there’s a certain Bachelor tradition you gotta keep alive with every season, and stepping in a bucket is one of them.”

Ripa continued to poke and prod, asking Turner if he “just got carried away,” or if he truly fell in love “with more than woman.”
Turner admitted that he “think[s] it’s fair to say that [he] actually fell in love with those women.”
“But that’s not the same as realizing that one of the three of them, by the end of the journey, is the one person that you can’t live without,” he noted. “With each of those women, they had such wonderful personalities, they were each different and unique in their own way. And to love them, I can openly admit to that, but I also know that there was only one by the end of it, clearly, that is the one I couldn’t live without.”
The Golden Bachelor fans, prepare for the coming weeks, where a big decision and Fantasy Suites await.
