Mark Consuelos might have just cost himself some snuggles from Kelly Ripa on this morning’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark. Ripa asked her husband-turned-co-host if he knew what “cricketing”is. After Consuelos said he did not, Ripa explained that she believes she “cricket[s] against” him while in bed.
“They say it helps you fall asleep faster and it’s backed by science,” she continued. “It’s the art of rubbing your feet together before bed like a cricket.”
Having become so accustomed to cricketing against her husband every night, Ripa recalled an awkward moment filming a “bed segment” on Live with previous co-host Ryan Seacrest and Jerry O’Connell
“And Jerry O’Connell was in Mark’s position in the bed, and I started cricketing my legs against his,” she shared. “And he was like, ‘Kelly, that’s weird.’ And I was like, ‘What’s weird?’ And then I realized I was cricketing my legs against Jerry’s legs!”
Consuelos jumped in, quipping, “it’s dangerous.”
“Especially in the fall when things are dry, because if you don’t shave, you could start a fire,” he joked.
Taking pride in the immense laughter he received from the audience, Consuelos exclaimed, “YEAH!,” as he proceeded to call Live a “guy show” and “bro show.”

“You guys know what I’m talking about!” he continued.
He then told Ripa that she “could be a survivalist” and “could be on that warrior SEAL team show that’s on.”
A displeased Ripa replied, “It’s a good thing you never have stubble anywhere.”
Consuelos claimed he doesn’t cricket, but eventually admitted, “Well, maybe I snuggle.”
“I feel that I may be snuggling less this weekend!” he teased.
Ripa reiterated that cricketing is “backed by science” and is “likening to the habit of acupuncture” through its stimulation of nerve endings and acupressure points in your body.
“So tonight when you go home, in your bed, and then when you’re put in the guest room, try cricketing your legs together to see how fast you fall asleep,” she said.
Consuelos had to get one more jab in, telling viewers to “make sure [they] change the batteries on your fire alarm.” However, his joke didn’t go over so well, as he got booed by the audience.
“Oh, c’mon!” he exclaimed.
Ripa ultimately got the last laugh, saying, “I am so looking forward to Mark’s ice-cold weekend!”
